Oh hey December, sorry I'm a few days late.

Holy freaking balls, guys.
It's seven days into December already.
Where does the time go?
. . . . . . . . . .
Oh that's right; time goes into school, stupid projects, the husband, getting ready for Christmas, and sleep.
Sweet glorious sleep, I can't wait to partake of you soon.

Anyway. This week was the last full week of classes for Trev and I, and it's been rather stressful. We came back from our lovely Thanksgiving break on Sunday and immediately began working on homework. We did take a break to watch the mid-season finale of The Walking Dead, which made me bawl like a little baby. (For any of you TWD fans who haven't see the episode, I won't spoil it.) Monday I started working on a 20 page proposal I should have been working on all semester long, and Trevor made puppets for his Theatre for Elementary School Teachers class. There had to be a sock puppet, a paper bag puppet, a plate puppet, and a stick figure puppet, and they had to have a certain theme. Trev made them the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and I was so impressed by them! I can't wait for my husband to finish school and be a teacher, because kids are going to love him.

Trevie's puppets. (:
8:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. (midnight for Trev) Tuesday was spent setting up for, decorating, and participating in the annual President's Gala for my event management class. Trev catered the event, so we were able to work together. The President's Gala was my group's project for event management. All eight of us worked together to bring each piece together, right down to the menu and lighting. I was in charge of the centerpieces, and loved how classy they ended up being. (Shoutout to Pinterest for the great idea!) Some of us were stressed before the gala, because it was a lot of pressure, not enough time, and no budget for decorations. Everything, besides the centerpieces, were borrowed from storage units and the Shakespeare Festival. We were worried that we couldn't turn the ballroom, an event room at SUU, into a classy place for a gala. But we succeeded, and we succeeded everyone's expectations, too. Our professor sent us an email afterwards that said, "Wow. I was awestruck at how amazing the ballroom looked tonight & how well the gala went. I've truly heard it was the best gala we've ever had from several people. It certainly looked better than it ever has. Things ran smoothly, you kept the show going, the menu was great the guests were treated well & taken care of & you covered all the details. You all made the gala happen & made it a success. I can't thank you enough for all the hard work & dedication you all put in to make it happen. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I hope it was a good experience for you all. I certainly enjoyed working with you!" Major project of the semester down! Tuesday was a long tiring day, but the results made it all worth it. Tuesday was also our 4 month anniversary; obviously not celebrated, but at least we were working together all day.

One side of the ballroom - an indoor winter wonderland.
My awesome group for the President's Gala
Tuesday night (before and during the Gala, so we had old people slipping all over the place!) and Wednesday morning's snow totaled about 13 inches in Cedar City, which blanketed campus and everywhere else and made it a winter wonderland. However, the negative degree temperatures and cold wind have not made the week very enjoyable. It was motivation though to stay indoors and finish homework. I completed my 20 page proposal - which is total b.s, by the way -, made two 10 minute presentations, and finished my event planner for event management. Trevor finished an English paper, made a binder full of theater stuff for his class, and made a digital story for his multicultural education class (with his awesome wife's help, of course). The digital story had to be 5 - 6 minutes, be at least 16 - 18 images, and had to be an original story. Trev and I put our heads together and decided to support our gay friends by writing a story that had to deal with gay parenting and the kids that have to deal with being bullied for it. Trev will find out next week during finals what his professor thought of it. Everyone else who read it/watched it loved it.

Campus winter wonderland.
When Friday finally rolled around yesterday, Trevie and I celebrated by ordering Cafe Rio and decorating our apartment for Christmas. The decorating process is still a work in progress, but I'll post pictures as soon as we're done! My sweet husband also bought me Christmas flowers, which he surprised me with when he picked me up from school yesterday. (He's been my chaoffuer all week, because of the snow + my car = not the best idea in the world.) Did we do any homework yesterday? No, because we're finally done! Christmas break is so close, I can almost feel it. As long as we can get through finals week next week, we'll be home-free for a couple of weeks.

Today, while Trevor completed his Theatre for Elementary Education Teachers class at SUU by teaching a group of 7 & 8 year olds, I cleaned the apartment. Having homework, work, and big events all week means the apartment was definitely neglected. At about 3:30, our special weekend guest knocked on the door. My brother Trevor was in Richfield at a leadership conference for FFA. He was asked to be an adviser, and loved every minute of it. Since he was so close to Cedar, he decided to come and spend the night with us. Brother hasn't seen the apartment since he helped us move into it back in July. We went to dinner, and so far it's been a lot of XBOX playing between the boys, which gives me the chance to blog and continue decorating. I am discovering though how confusing it is for the boys for them to both be named Trevor, so my husband is "T-Sean" for the weekend, and my brother is just "Trevor." I do love having double the Trevor love.

Two Trevor's, double the love for this girl!
XBOX time. They've been like this for hours.
So there's my first week of December catch up. I have some exciting news to share (no, I'm not pregnant, so don't think that that is the exciting news!) next week as soon as I get the go-ahead from some people. It's a change in our plans, but Trevor and I are looking forward to 2014 with excitement.
