April: A month of Easter candy, holidays, birthdays, springtime weather, and the end of school.
How is 2015 flying by so quickly?
The Friday before Easter, one of my clients at work came through the drive-thru and asked after I did his deposit if we had any cheeseburgers. (It's his running joke with the tellers.) I told him that unfortunately not only did we not have cheeseburgers, but we didn't even have Easter candy! The gentleman left, and about five minutes later a tube was sent in full of Easter Reese's eggs. The sweet culprit did a drop and drive, but we knew they were from him.
While everyone else was glued to their TVs watching LDS conference, we grabbed some KFC chicken and spent the afternoon at the Canyon Park having a picnic. Picnics at the park the day before Easter has kind of turned into a tradition for us. I can't wait for the day that we have a puppy to play with at the park, but until then, Trevie is the best picnic partner.
Our Easter baskets for each other - Trev's had Big Hero 6, a Guardians of the Galaxy poster, and Reese's Eggs, and mine had sweatpants, an iTunes card, candy, and Maybelline Baby Lips chapstick. Mr. Green is getting better at this giving gifts thing. ;)
Trevor's family is big on doing parties for just about every holiday and birthday. And of course Easter was no different. We love spending time with everyone.
13 year old goon of a comedian.
(Thanks Big T for the laugh!)
Cute springtime nails, despite Utah's bipolar weather.
Mr. Green always makes me smile, even on the grumpiest days.
Lots of late night after work snuggles on the couch with my boo-boo bear.
(He hates that nickname, and I love it.)
About 10 months ago, Trevor injured his left knee doing who knows what. Being the unsympathetic wife that I am, I told him to deal with the pain and called him a big baby. I thought he was just being a wimp because let's be honest, some men are wieners when it comes to pain. However as the months passed, I realized how much pain he really was in. We tried a cortazone shot, got an MRI, and then wound up in an orthopedic surgeon's office. Dr. Clark in St. George was great to work with and left us with a couple of options. It's either a really small miniscus tear that's not showing up on the MRI or a plyqua (tissue build up that causes inflammation and popping of the knee). He gave Trevor another cortazone shot, ordered a prescription of the anti-inflammatory drug Naproxin, and told him to do physical therapy for a month. These are all things to avoid doing a $5,000 knee scope... which unfortunately, we think is coming in the near future. Anyway, after Trev's first appointment with Dr. Clark, we munched away our breakfast at Denny's. It was the perfect morning date.
I love my Green boys. Their Snapchats make my long days at work more bearable.
We had a pre-birthday celebration the day before Trev's actual birthday with Tyler and Shannon down in St. George. We tried out the new Fiesta Fun laser arena (which is dumb, especially when you are put in a group with three bratty 12 year old girls), did some more go-carting, drank some Swig drinks, and ate dinner at Texas Roadhouse with Cam, the Cates', and Zach and Andie. Of course we put my big boy on the saddle for a big Texas sized birthday yee-haw while at Texas Roadhouse. I also got us 50% off our meal when my prime rib came back to me bleeding when it should have been medium well done. All in all, a great pre-birthday celebration.
| Good morning handsome, I love you! |
My handsome husband turned 22 on the 19th, and I only made him listen to '22' by Taylor Swift once. Maybe twice at the most. ;) I love spoiling my husband, and spoiling him on his birthday was so much fun. I surprised him with a new stereo for his car; only problem was that his one request for a new stereo was one with a CD player, and clearly on the box of the one I bought him it said "No CD player!" Oops. I made up for that mistake with a DQ ice cream cake and dinner at Winger's. And maybe some other birthday fun. . . ;)
The Providence Center branch of Zion's Bank here in Cedar City is closing in July due to branch consolidation, and so we started receiving a lot of their storage stuff. You can bet that when we saw the big goat head and troll/alien head that the tellers wanted to try them on.
We spent a Sunday out in Enterprise for the first time in two years at Trevor's friend Doug's mission homecoming. Surprisingly, the church didn't burn down when we walked in. I chalked it up as a good day.
Best mail day ever! In August, we are going with the Cates' to Disneyland for three days, and then San Diego for four days. Disneyland is having their Diamond Celebration, so it's the perfect time to go. Ellie is staying home with her grandma, so it'll be two young married couples who happen to be best friends for a week of fun in the sun. We can't wait!
Somehow, I got roped into playing on the Zions Bank co-ed softball team for the summer. I hadn't played softball since high school city league balls, and I'm kind of out of shape. It's been a hoot and a half of fun though, even though we suck. Trevor calls my softball look my 'lesbian attire.' Thanks, babe.
The last day of April was spent running around like a chicken with my head cut off getting ready for SUU's graduation the next day. In between work, getting my hair done, and running errands, Cami and I went to the grad fair together to pick up our caps and gowns. We finally did it!
