February was what I call a transition month.
It was my first full month on the teller line at the bank. Trev was working lots of hours and going to school. Trev's knee pain continued to get worse, so we went and got him a cortazone shot from the doctor. The weather was absolutely wonderful and warm (until the end of the month). We spent a lot of time with friends, and not so much time one-on-one. Life was busy and fun and stressful.
February was fun. Here are some highlights:
Our weekly date nights turned into day dates because of our conflicting work schedules, typically spent shopping or curled up on the couch watching TV.
This year's Superbowl was so intense and frustrating, but such a great game to watch. We ate plenty of wings, chip dips, drank some (root)beer, yelled at the TV, danced along with Katy Perry's awesome half-time performance, and cheered - then cried - when Tom Brady and his bunch of ball-flattening losers won the Superbowl. I'm no Russell Wilson fan, but seriously, anybody BUT Tom Brady, please!
Trev and I re-fell in love with grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup. One of our favorite dinners from February was buying different slices of cheese from the store and experimenting for the best grilled cheese.
Ellie and Shannon came to our house for a visit while they were in town. After lunch at Brad's, Shannon left us with Ellie as she ran some errands. Trev and I had so much fun with the little munchkin. We just pray that our kids will be as cute as her.
February felt more like springtime, so that called for an ice cream run.
I had a day off from work on February 12th, and decided to do something spontaneous to surprise my husband. The 12th was Trev's dad's 52nd birthday, and I decided to have a little birthday party at the cemetery. I picked up yellow balloons (Robert's favorite color) and some cupcakes from the store, and set up a blanket in front of the headstone. I called Trevor as soon as I knew he was done with class, and had him meet me at the cemetery. Needless to say, Trev was surprised. We ended up calling Cameron so he could come and join us, and I enjoyed listening to the boys share memories about their dad.
We spoiled each other with thoughtful gifts for Valentine's Day. I wrapped up year two of 14 Days of Love (click here for an explanation) for Trev by giving him his 'big gift', and he gave me a 'date night' - dinner, a movie, and treats - and some beautiful flowers.

The rest of Valentine's Day was spent in Hurricane & St. George at a steer/heifer jackpot show with my parents and Tedo. Not the most romantic place to spend a Valentine's day, but it was fun to be surrounded by friends and family. Watching Tedo kick some butt was an added plus, too. ;) I was lucky to spend the day of love with two of my favorite T's.
Aunt Angie called me one night and asked if Trevor and I could babysit the kids while she ran out of town with Uncle Jason. The two older girls were busy with their afterschool activities, so Trevor and I spent time with the younger two kids, Ammon and Jaylin. We jumped on the tramp and ate yummy pizza, and even got their homework done. Parenting will be a breeze... right?

Trevor and I requested 24 hours off of work and headed up north to my friend Amanda's wedding. Amanda and I were best friends in high school and were in FFA together. We were invited to her ring ceremony and reception, and I wouldn't miss it for the world. We hung out with my family for a little bit, loving on the baby animals, before heading up to Wadley Farms in Salt Lake. It was like a little high school reunion amongst fellow friends and classmates. Trevor fit right in with my old friends and we spent the whole evening at the reception talking, laughing, and reminiscing. After the reception, we went to dinner with two other couples and munched on curly fries at Arby's for another hour or two. It made me a little homesick for living in Utah County. And of course, no Utah County trip would be complete without lunch at Zupas.
Tyler and Shannon were in St. George for a couple of days, and asked us to come down for dinner one Saturday night. So, as soon as Trev got off work, we hopped in the car and drove down south. We met the Cates' at Buffalo Wild Wings, and then ventured over to Fiesta Fun for go-carting and mini golf. I messed around with my Polaroid Instax camera Trevor got me for Christmas, and cured my baby hunger by loving on Ellie Jo. It was the best double date we've been on in a while.
After a relatively mild winter, Mother Nature finally decided to dump some snow on Cedar, and I got to wear my cute scarfs to work for a couple of days.
Cedar City joined the food truck band wagon and started having a 'food truck roundup' once a week. All of the best food trucks of Southern Utah gather in the Ace parking lot for the whole day. It's every fat kid's dream!
The last day of February proved to be the snowiest day of the whole winter! Trev woke up and got ready to go to work, only to discover he couldn't get the car out of the parking lot. I threw on my sweats, poncho, and jacket, and trudged outside to uncover my car. It took us 35 minutes to get Trev to work, on what should've been an 8 minute drive. Cedar Main was a mess and so were all of the back roads. While Trev was at work, I snuggled under my afghan and watched the snow fall. I eventually ventured out again to go shopping with Tara and Cami, and to pick Trevor up from work. We wrapped up the day (and month) with dinner at Hermie's.
