I totally get why married women who have a blog stop blogging. You start out with good intentions, but then you start to realize your life is boring.
My past two blogs have been centered around a theme. Although this is my blog about Trevor and I, I realize that we don't do much other than go to school, work, sleep, eat, and watch TV.
We don't have kids, we don't have money to travel the world, and we don't do anything super cool. We're just your typical normal married couple.
This blog is mainly for my sake, so that I can remember our lives together, years down the road. I've never been one for actually handwriting in a journal, but give me a keyboard and I can type my heart out.
So, here's a brief catch-up:
- Me vs. School: School can suck a fat one. We're at the middle of the semester, and I feel like I've been in school for forever. I'm stressed about taking math next semester (and hoping/praying that I can test into Math 1030) and I'm panicking about being graduated. My whole life has revolved around school. I would go to school, then have summer break, and then go back to school. Well after May I'll have summer break and two jobs here on campus, but when August rolls around there will be no school. It's a great thought but a terrifying one too. That means I have to (or at least try to thanks to our shitty economy) get a big girl job with real benefits and real pay and something that can support Trevor and I.
- Work is fabulous for both of us. Trevor is going to be getting more hours at the T-Bird Grill next semester, and his boss really likes him. I'm currently working on the Friends of the Sherratt Library Gala upstairs with the administration, and in the copy center I'm just doin' projects like usual. I'm really blessed to have great bosses and co-workers.
- Trevor vs. School: Trevie had a meeting with his academic counselor today to talk about his next steps getting into the education program. Well, it might take another semester and a half, because Trev's GPA isn't high enough to get him into the program. He has to retake five classes and get a grade above "C" to take his next step. Those five classes were taken his freshman year of college, and hey, who doesn't screw around that first semester? It's a tiny bit of a setback, but honestly Trevor has better grades than me this semester and is working ten times harder than me. It makes me happy and proud to be his wife, to see his passion to become a teacher.
- No, we didn't watch conference. I think our neighbors have heard our swearing and our Walking Dead because Saturday and Sunday sessions of conference were echoing through our walls even with the bedroom door shut. So, I put in headphones, curled up in my closet, curled up under our covers, and read Catching Fire and Mockingjay. This girl is getting ready to see the movie next month. (:
- Still no wedding pictures... that's annoying. We've been married for two months, and still no pictures. But our photographer apparently has had some crazy stuff come up, so I'm trying not to be too annoyed.
- Littlest brother and parents are coming to visit today, and then the littlest brother will stay with Trev and I until Sunday because it's his fall break for school. We're really excited, we have some fun things planned.
- I'm kind of...maybe sort of... baby hungry? Whoops. Didn't expect that to happen. Thank the heavens I have a great heavy duty non removable birth control. ;)
We are so damn interesting, I know.
