November 6: This might be the most petty post ever, but I really am SO grateful for a English speaking, white and highly capable cousin (well, technically Trevor's cousin, my cousin by marriage) who can do my nails. Having my nails done has always been one of my favorite things and my splurge in life, right from the time my mom took me to get them done right before the start of 7th grade. They make me feel like a classy lady - what woman doesn't wan to be classy? Coming to Cedar, I obviously didn't have a go to nail lady. I bounced around for almost three years, trying to find someone. Last Christmas, after pestering me for months to go to his cousin, Trevor paid for me to get my nails done by Amanda. There's no going back now! Amanda has converted me to gel nails because they're less damaging and harmful, and they last so much longer than acrylic nails. I was getting sick of spending lots of money to go to a salon to listen to a bunch of Asian women ramble on in their language while not having the best quality of nails done. Amanda does all sorts of fun designs and colors, and I know that if I have a vision in mind she can get it done. She's not just one of those girls who claims that she can do a good job on nails; Amanda has been doing them for years. The girl even worked on a cruise ship doing nails! I get so, so, soooo many compliments on them, and I'm proud to show them off. They make my hands look great, too. I'm also thankful for a husband who likes my nails, and who was the first one to pay for me to get them done. I've had ex-boyfriends in the past who didn't like my nails, and didn't like the money I spent on them either. (Thank heaven that Amanda is cheap, because for real, some places are so expensive!) So, if any of you Cedar City people or Utah County people want your nails done for the holiday season (yes, Amanda travels up to Utah County *Lehi specifically* every three weeks to do nails) let me know and I'll give you her number. (Look up #nailsbyamanda on Instagram, her Instagram name @squatmonster89, or on Facebook: Nails by Amanda.)
My cute fall nails from today's appointment (and the first chocolate orange of the holidays).
Tonight, I'm also grateful for the CMA (Country Music Association) Award show. This is one of those award shows that I look forward to year after year, and it always promises great performances from my favorite artists. I made a delicious dinner, grabbed my man, and settled onto the couch for three hours of fun. Luke Bryan looked hot as ever shaking his butt up on stage, Lady Antebellum will forever hold my heart, and T-Swift did great performing a live version of her song "Red" with Vince Gill and Allison Kraus. Unfortunately, I had to leave the couch and stop watching the show to go to work, but my sweet husband (despite his hatred for country music) promised to keep me updated.
